Help us meet the Florida/Georgia Matching Funds Challenge!

A donor from our Southeast Region has offered us $25,000 for our work in Georgia and Florida, but only if we can match it with additional $25,000. These funds are exclusively for the development of the Greenway in Florida and Georgia. Please help us reach this goal! Florida has an impressive system of trails and greenways all over the state. For more information, visit the Florida Office of Greenways and Trails online or phone them at (850) 245-2052.
The Alliance has mapped out a potential route along the Atlantic coast from the Georgia border to Key West. We also hope to designate an alternate route which will provide off-road access to the state's Gulf Coast.
In September 2000 the Alliance designated Florida's first two segments of ECG: the River to Sea Trail in Flagler County and the Flagler Drive Trail in West Palm Beach. In 2001, the Alliance designated its southernmost segment, the Key West Bike Path. In April 2002, the ECGA designated the Overseas Heritage Trail (106.3 miles, 58 of which are off-road), a trail across the Florida Keys from Key West to Key Largo.
We are presently seeking individuals who are interested in serving on the Florida state committee. Any interested parties should contact Herb Hiller, ECGA's Southeast Program Director.
